Miniature Round Nantucket Basket
This little basket is one of my most requested Nantucket Lightship Baskets! This Miniature Round Nantucket Basket features a fancy birch wood grooved base, which holds a current date U.S.A. Penny coin in the recessed groove (or a bone scrimshaw disk - artist option as to design)
The Miniature Round Nantucket basket has hand-tapered ash wood staves, fine-fine cane weaving, and dyed rattan rims, nailed and single lashed just like my full-size baskets. Same quality craftsmanship and details as my larger Nantucket baskets!
The cherry wood Nantucket Basket swing handle is attached with porcelain knobs and a brass handle pin. Shown with the scrimshaw disk option in the base of this little Nantucket basket.
This miniature Nantucket Basket measures a mere 3" diameter, 2" high and 3.75" high at handle! Singed and dated on the base.
